UPDATE: What can we say! – we are now back on the market every Saturday as of last week!

First, and most importantly…
We couldn’t have done this without your amazing support, care and loveliness, and we would like to say a HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to each and every one of our brilliant customers who have continued to support our local family business through these extraordinary times. Thank you, all of you, and we are very much looking forward to seeing you again in the market square for a proper catch up!

New news…
We have now started again with our Saturday markets in these first phases of lockdown easing, and we will also continue with our delivery service – our mobile market! – as it’s working very well. Our new delivery days are now Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. For our Saturday market, there are measures put in place by the council regarding physical distancing – this may mean being in a queue to see us. To try and plan for this, we are encouraging customers to pre-order and collect from us, which hopefully means customers won’t have to wait too long. If you would like to do this, please place your order by the Wednesday before the market and we can have everything ready for you to collect. We are still maintaining good supplies, and you will find our price list and order form on the Products page.

We will continue to share some of our recipes… nice, easy ones! Check out our Recipe page to see what we’ve been making! This week we have a delicious recipe for Super quinoa salad, with added sprouted buckwheat for a gluten-free healthy lunch!

All our customers
During the easing of lockdown we are still offering a delivery service to all our customers. We have surprised ourselves by making a huge number of deliveries these last couple of months in Saffron Walden and our local villages. We are still receiving emails for orders, and we have also been preparing orders for those who wish to collect – please email us at and include your phone number so we can call you.

Elderly, disabled and self-isolating
We are also continuing to provide a priority delivery service to our more vulnerable customers – the elderly, disabled and those who are self-isolating in our community even after lockdown. We are wholly committed to offer this service so you can get the food and supplies you need, and will prioritise your order and delivery. Please email us on to ask us about this delivery service, and include your phone number so we can call you.

Last but not least…
We feel very lucky to have such lovely customers, friends and family – you have made our very busy times here recently at Saffron Wholefoods both joyful and uplifting!
